CaringKiwi Resume Builder ("the Service") is a free resume-building tool that requires no account registration or login. This page explains how the Service handles personal information and the data you enter.
1. Handling of the information you enter (in principle, nothing is sent to a server)
The Service consists only of static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — there is no server-side processing. Information you enter into the form (name, address, date of birth, photo, education and work history, etc.) is processed only within your own device (browser) and is never sent to or stored on any server, including ours.
The one exception: only when you click the "Auto-fill address" button, the postal code you entered is sent to an external postal-code lookup service (zipcloud) to retrieve the corresponding prefecture and city. Only the postal code is transmitted in this request — your name, street address, building name, or any other information you've entered is never sent. If you don't use this button, no network request is made, including for the address field.
2. About temporary auto-save
While you're filling in the form, your entries are temporarily saved using your browser's sessionStorage mechanism. This is a temporary, on-device-only save that is automatically cleared when you close the browser or tab — it is never sent anywhere else. If you'd like to save your data permanently as a backup, use the "Save" button at the top of the preview screen. The exported JSON file is saved only to your own device (or your own cloud storage, etc.) — the Service itself never retains it.
3. About your photo
Any image you select as your resume photo is cropped within your browser and, as with sections 1 and 2 above, is handled only on your own device. Images are never uploaded to a server. Note: when you export a backup file via the "Save" button, the photo is included in that file as a Base64-encoded string.
4. Cookies, analytics, and advertising
To understand how the Service is used, we use Google's web analytics tool, Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect data, but it does not collect personally identifiable information such as your name or email address.
The Service also uses Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service. Google and other advertising providers may use cookies to show ads relevant to your interests.
5. External services (CDNs) used by this site
To speed up page loading, the Service loads the following JavaScript/CSS libraries from external CDNs (content delivery networks).
- jsDelivr (Bootstrap, Cropper.js)
- code.jquery.com (jQuery)
- zipcloud (postal-code lookup — your postal code is sent only when you click "Auto-fill address")
When these libraries are loaded, information about your browser (such as IP address and user agent) may be sent to the operator of each CDN. This is separate from the content you enter into the form (name, address, etc.), and does not mean your form entries are sent externally (aside from the postal code, when the address lookup is used — see section 1 for details). Please refer to each CDN operator's and zipcloud's own privacy policy for how they handle this information.
6. Disclaimer
The resume layout produced by the Service is based on the sample resume format published by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, but we do not guarantee its accuracy, currency, or suitability for any particular recipient. Please review the content of your completed resume yourself, and use your own judgment regarding any correspondence with the recipient. We accept no liability for any damages arising from use of the Service.

8. Changes to this policy
