Nara

If you are in the Kansai region for any length of time then Nara is another sight-seeing spot you shouldn't miss out on.

I'm not going to go in to a long speel about Japanese history because I'm quite sure many of you will know more about it than I do. However I do advise going to Nara apart from seeing many friendly deer (that can be handfed) you will be able to FEEL some of the history of this amazing country.

The most important piece of history in Nara is Todaiji which is now a world heritage monument. Todaiji houses a huge Budha statue which is known as the Daibutsu in Japanese.

Tips for visits to Nara-If you don't have a lunchbox prepared for the day buy one in the vicinity of the Station as there are no decent places to pick one up closer to the Todaiji area.
