Theme Parks

Mickey Mouse
If you've got a spare day or two up your sleeve it might be fun to visit one of the major theme parks in Japan.

The two biggest theme parks are; Tokyo Disneyland and Universal Studios Japan.

Check out the English sites before going. They are official sites and are able to give you all the detailed information you might need.

Caring Kiwi Tips
DON'T go during the busy holiday periods (From July 20th, throughout August, December and March) If you do expect crowds like you have never seen before.

Take a drink bottle. The beverages inside the parks can be expensive and you will need to sip on something while lining up waiting.

If you have small children Tokyo Disneyland is better for the kids than Tokyo Disney Sea. At the later the walk between the attractions is quite long and the attractions are geared mainly for adults and teenagers.

Take a small picnic blanket. The parades are very popular and people use picnic blankets to save themselves a good spot hours before the parades.

At USJ (Universal Studios Japan) there are many attractions where you get wet so take a plastic rain coat. If you forget they can be purchased on site.
