Keeping Fit
In the winter sometimes itfs difficult
enough to venture outside the warmth of your air-conditioned apartment to commute to work or school let alone contemplate making an extra trip to the gym, but if this lazy attitude continues for any length of time your waistline followed by your health maybe adversely effected.
There are big privately owned gyms here. They are situated near the bigger train stations so they are convenient for people to use on the way home from work. The fee system is the same as your home country. You pay an initial membership fee then pay per month.
Many gyms operate until very late and there are special discounted rates for people who use the facilities during the early bird or night owl hours.
An alternative to a private gym is the gyms run by the city wards. They are less expensive and are often patronized by older people so there is no need to feel so self conscious if you are a little over weight or are not as glamorous as you used to be.
To give you some idea of the fees, at my local centre a single adult swim ticket costs 700 yen and for those who like to mind their pennies 11 tickets can be purchased for the price of 10 and monthly concession tickets are a bargain at 4900 yen.
Move your body! I bet you will feel a whole lot better after a bit of exercise.
