Me at home

Hi. My name is Dianne Heslop-Nakanishi and I am a Kiwi (New Zealander) who has been living in Japan for about 10 years.

I first came over when I was 19 years old. Initially I found life difficult, especially with the language barrier, to fit in straight away. But after about a year I had mastered enough of the language and experienced enough of the culture to make the rest of my stay a breeze and an enriching one.

These days people are always in a rush and are always looking for some sort of a head start. I hope that this website will be a "head start" for you to understand some things about Japan and it's people.

If you are looking for more detailed information I have written a book which you can down load by clicking on the blue box on the right hand side of this page.

All of the views given on this page are those of my own. If you come over to Japan why don't you share some of your views with me too.

Dianne
