Entertaining Kids
Entertaining kids can be hard work at the best of times, but today I came across a fantastic place to share with you, Kids Plaza. Kids Plaza is situated in Oogimachi, Osaka on the Sakaisuji subway. At first I expected it to be like an amusement park with jet coasters and other rides, but to my surprise it is a modern science centre.
Japanese website for Kids Plaza.
The person who invented Kids Plaza should be given a Nobel Prize or something. Kids are engaged and happy for the whole day! Children are challenged, unknowingly, to use their 5 senses against gravity and other scientific phenomena to secure the end result which is ultimately FUN! For example pulling on a rope to make a bubble the size of a huge glass window, or using their bodyweight, jumping up and down on a circular platform to propel a plastic ball skywards in a tube, and challenging their eyes with optic illusions. Even parents were lining up to draw cartoons to put through the cartoon machine.
There were things for children of all ages to watch, climb on, slide on, play with and touch and when they, okay admittedly the parents, get sick of being inside there is a great park outside to amuse them for a few more hours.
